BBT and MAA hire new field representatives

October 27, 2004, Elgin, Ill.

Brethren Benefit Trust and Mutual Aid Association are pleased to announce the hiring of Peg Yoder and Randy Yoder of Huntingdon, Pa., to a joint position to be shared between the two organizations. BBT is based in Elgin, Illinois; MAA is based in Abilene, Kansas.

Beginning Jan. 2, 2005, Peg and Randy will serve half-time as field representatives for BBT and one-fourth time in the same capacity for MAA. In their role, they will represent both organizations at congregational, district, national, and other denominational events, working with current and potential members and clients.

“We are pleased to have Peg and Randy join our team,” said Wil Nolen, BBT president. “Their skills and strengths are many and we anxiously anticipate the impact they will make as they represent BBT throughout Pennsylvania and the denomination.”

“We count it a privilege that these individuals will join our organizations in a new advocacy venture,” said Jean Hendricks, MAA president. “Both the Yoders will bring a professional manner, knowledge of the wider church, and a personal commitment to their work on behalf of MAA.”

Peg retired in June from teaching English at Juniata Valley High School. Randy, who will retire at the end of December, has served as district executive of Middle Pennsylvania District for the past twenty years. He has also been a pastor of three congregations in South Central Indiana and earned a Doctor of Ministry in the area of organizational development from McCormick Theological Seminary. They are members of Stone Church of the Brethren in Huntingdon.

“We look forward to continued service to the church, particularly with two organizations that have significantly impacted our lives,” said Peg and Randy.

Although their assignment will officially begin in 2005, Peg already has started working on several projects for both organizations. Peg and Randy will work out of their home office in Huntingdon and will have a new phone number installed for this assignment. In this capacity, their e-mail address will be pryoder_bbt@brethren.org.
