Release -- 2000 Brethren Benefit Trust combines departments, names new directorDecember 1, 2000, Elgin, IlNevin Dulabaum has been appointed as Director of Communications and Information Services for Brethren Benefit Trust. This new position combines Communications with Information Services for the first time in BBTs history, said Wil Nolen, BBT president. The reconfiguration is a logical move given the close relationship these two departments share in this age of technology. The joining of these departments creates an impressive list of tasks for Dulabaum. As Director of Information Services, he will coordinate BBTs internal hardware and software systems. He will also serve as Director of eMountain Communications, BBTs ministry that provides Internet and technology services to individuals and organizations within the church and to agencies that share Brethren values. As Director of Communications, he will coordinate public relations and marketing initiatives, oversee issues of corporate identity, and serve as BBTs representative to many denominational and ecumenical projects and gatherings. Dulabaums job history qualifies him for this varied and demanding position. A graduate of Manchester College, North Manchester, Ind., he honed his skills as a writer and photographer with newspapers in Elkhart and Milford, Indiana, and Elgin, Illinois. He joined the Church of the Brethren General Board as Manager of News Services in 1994. His duties included editing Newsline, co-editing Agenda, serving as managing editor of Messenger, and administering the denominations official Web site, www.brethren.org. Dulabaum joined BBT in September 1999 as Manager of Marketing and Public Relations. In July he added a major new responsibility when he became Interim Director of Information Services. In making the announcement of Dulabaums appointment, Wil Nolen welcomed him enthusiastically to his new position: We are excited about the experience Nevin brings in both of these areas and the leadership he will provide BBT for the future. |
